SEA Gas is pleased to announce that South Australia’s energy backbone has now been enhanced with the interconnection of the Moomba to Adelaide Pipeline (MAP) and the SEA Gas pipeline, allowing gas to flow from the SEA Gas pipeline to the MAP.

The state now has an energy backbone running through it that will enable gas to be delivered from multiple supply sources to all parts of the state and beyond.

The MAP traverses a roughly north-south direction through the state, while SEA Gas enters diagonally through the state’s south-east.  Both pipelines transport natural gas, a fuel that can be burnt in power stations with half of the CO2 emissions and none of the particulate matter produced by coal-fired power stations. Gas is a fuel that also has application to industrial and commercial enterprises as well as to domestic consumers for heating water and homes.
